I Am From Poem

I am from America’s hometown with the rock that says “1620”
I am from the Cape Cod Canal and busy traffic rotaries
I am from a former summer cottage full of love and grandparents
I am from a twin bed, a plastic desk and countless Disney VCR’s
I am from a life-size Barbie dollhouse, swing sets, and swimming pools
I am from annual family Christmas parties and summer weeks spent in Harwich, Cape Cod
I am from rainbow Christmas lights and blue hydrangeas
I am from the salty ocean smell and freshly brewed coffee
I am from Grandpa’s French toast and Grandma’s brownies
I am from the Swedish blonde hair and blue eyes
I am from “follow your heart” and “just do your best”
I am from Nina and Papa, not Mom and Dad
I am from my grandparents
